Join us in congratulating Paige for being awarded our volunteer of the month. When asked what got her interested in Wild Blue, here is what she said…
Starting with a black and white cat named Punkins, who slept in the crib with me soon after I was born, I’ve had a lifetime of living with cats. Most were former strays, giveaways, or ones who just showed up. In 2006 I went to the Cat Fanciers Show at the City Auditorium just to see “pure-bred cats” for the first time. In addition to seeing beautiful and exotic breeds like Savannahs, Ocicats, and Abyssinians, I met a volunteer for a rescue at a table for donations and information about fostering.
Thinking “I can do that; I can foster a cat” was the beginning of 11 years of fostering (almost 5 for Wild Blue so far) and a long-standing friendship with the woman who recruited me. Little did I know that “I can foster a cat” would lead to hundreds, and never just one at a time. It’s the best job I’ve ever had.
Thanks Paige for all of your hard work!
