My name is Sabrina and I’ve been volunteering with Wild Blue since October 2019. We moved to Colorado Springs in May of that year and I had been seeing lots of FB posts about Wild Blue. I have been volunteering in different organizations since 2000 and had a huge hole to fill and cats were my preferred filler. . I started volunteering for a sanctuary shift but once I started helping I realized I could help so much more! I’m now the chair person for Fancy Feast. Last year was challenging as we had to pivot our strategy to an online auction. But we succeeded in having a great event and raised lots of money for the kitties of Wild Blue. I have two beautiful kitties. Dany (gray and white) came to me from a Los Angeles rescue with lots of health issues from being in a hoarding situation. I nursed her back to health and she is the love of my life! Pepper (black, white and gold) was literally found in the bushes behind our house at 4 weeks old weighing less than a pound. She is my little stinker but I understand her issues and love how much she entertains me. My love of kitties goes all the way back to being 5 years old and having a beautiful Siamese. I love that I can merge my kittie love and my love of helping non profits. I have met amazing friends through Wild Blue and I encourage others to volunteer if they can. During my previous free time I love to take international trips with my hubby. Hopefully we will get back to that soon! And I work for the builder who built us our dream home in Black Forest. I feel so lucky to be a part of our community in every way!
