Hello my Wild Blue Friends and Family!
My husband and I moved from Massachusetts in 2001 and raised a family of 3, all of which grew up very fast. As I’ve been busy raising a family I moved very far from a large family and many friends. Our families have always been animal lovers and currently we have 4 cats and a dog which we love.
After my children growing up with a blink of an eye I found myself entering the workforce again which I didn’t find any fulfillment in. As the city started growing really fast I decided to look for a job out in Black Forest and my husband and I took a ride one Sunday afternoon. As we were out on my venture to see what was out there we drove by the Wild Blue sign and I said to my husband “I want to be there”! I went home and researched Wild Blue’s website and not only was I excited about working with animals I fell in love Wild Blue’s philosophies on rescuing and caring for cats so I reached out to join orientation and became a volunteer right away. As I wanted to volunteer everywhere, I knew that wasn’t possible and started caring for the kitties at Petco once a week and one morning in Kaylene’s Kradle. After spending more time volunteering in Kaylene’s Kradle and knowing how much we help feral mamas to have there babies in a safe place being so well cared for, I knew this was the place for me. I love helping anywhere I can and I now volunteer 3 shifts a week and on other days I just like going to the sanctuary to socialize the cats and kittens there as well as seeing all of the wonderful friends I’ve met.
Kaylene’s Kradle rescues feral mama cats either pregnant or have already given birth and gives them a warm home with food, water and lots of loving care and during this time we try to socialize the mama cats in hopes they can go to their forever homes and find homes for these precious babies so they all have a chance at a happy healthy life.
I want to thank all of the wonderful mentors throughout the rescue who have gone out of there
way to teach me more and more there is to learn about cats and kittens that I never knew and to Gen, Marni and Anna who have taught me so much about caring for feral cats and kittens.
I love that I’m helping these precious animals and there is a bit of selfishness on my part because Wild Blue has become more than just helping save cats lives but it has become a home to me with people I consider family and friends. So instead of finding a new job, I quit the one I had and found something I enjoy so much more. Thank you Wild Blue and everything you do. I’m so happy to be a part of this amazing rescue!
