Wild Blue Cats! Has a rather unique program in Frontier Feral’s. This program specifically addresses the feral cat population not only in our Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program but also, on some occasions, where it’s unsafe to return a kitty to its current location, we bring the kitty (kitties) into our Bilbo’s Barn Buddies enclosure located on the property. This enclosure was generously funded by Karen and Ed Eberhart and primarily built by volunteer Brad Cook with the help of several other WB volunteers. We’ve just opened the first half and plan to have it completely open by the end of September. At that time we’ll be able to house up to 24 kitties which will be evaluated then placed into our barn cat program. These are working cats who earn their keep controlling rodent populations and monitoring delivery truck drivers and the occasional mail person.
If you have a barn/property in need of working cats (please remember cats work best in at least pairs) please submit our barn cat adoption application.
A WB team member will contact you (usually within 24 hours) and discuss your needs and set up and, once approved, will bring you your working cat team.
To ensure success the cats MUST be kept in a secure environment (meaning not allowed to roam) for at least 4 weeks so they learn that this is their new home.
We can help set that up for you if needed. Thanks to everyone who made this unique program a reality and saving these precious lives!
