Meet our April 2023 Kitty of the Month…..Selena!
Hello! My name is Selena, a DSH black and white female with a faint brush stroke of white between my eyes. I am also polydactyl on all four paws! My estimated DOB is 4/10/19. I am a quiet girl but a precious cat!
I came to my Wild Blue foster with my 5 newborn babies as a stray mama from the east side of Colorado Springs. During a foster transfer, I managed to escape my home but I hung around close-by. In the meantime, my babies went to another foster as bottle fed neonates. I was spotted often and eventually trapped, and I was relieved to be safely back indoors! My shyness is still something I’m working on, along with being more comfortable with quick movements and noises, but they can still startle me and I’m quick to run. I like my quiet spaces, away from activity, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want your attention! In fact, I LOVE to be pet especially around my neck, and I’ll purr and purr! Also, when being pet I like to kiss/lick your hand. I savor Churu treats and I’ll partake in social time with them and petting any time! Early during my care, I tested FIV+ and I was also treated for Panleukopenia. So, here are my tricks: approach me slowly, let me sniff your hand first, then rub my neck area, and we’ll be friends in no time! You can visibly see me relax my body with gently rubs. It takes me a long time to feel comfortable in new surroundings and with new people, however if you have the patience and allow me extended time,
I know I can blossom even more in my confidence. I just need some stability for a long time! I will probably do best in a quiet adult only home.
