Cat-A-Day!

Every day for the next few weeks we will feature one of the cats available for adoption at our Sanctuary or in Foster. Today our Cat of the Day is Lars.

Lars is a friendly short-haired Calico female is Lars. Her estimated DOB is 11/21/2015. She has grown so much in her comfort around humans and she seeks attention. She still likes a gentle greeting. She was rescued from a high kill area in Roswell, NM and endured treatments for ringworm, URI, and a dental with extractions. All this medical care created some ups and downs in her trust, but her confidence has grown so much. As she relaxes more around you, she leans in to fully enjoy the loving strokes and purrs away in bliss. She’s not quite ready to climb on a lap yet, but will rub against you over and over. She is ok with a quiet independent kitty who grants her space, but might relax more as a single kitty in the home. She prefers a calm environment which brings out the playful side in her.

She loves wiggly toys. She loves to toss the toy mice in the air! Stress can flare up some eye discharge occasionally so she will appreciate a gentle wiping to keep her clean and close attention for any infection. Dedicated time with a patient adopter will surely help her blossom even more! A slow and gradual introduction is best to help her successfully integrate into a new home. Detailed instruction procedures are provided by Wild Blue Cats! She will do better in a calm adult home or with gentle older teens who will help her feel safe and loved, and spend time nurturing her trust. Are you ready to love her forever?
