Update, June 22nd, 2024:
We are deeply saddened to announce that Zooter passed away this evening. He was in acute respiratory distress that could not be helped. He was loved by everyone who knew him and we will all miss him.
We are keeping his Kitty of the Month post here to share with everyone what a loving sweetheart he was.
Meet our May 2024 Kitty of the Month…..Zooter!
Zooter is looking for his forever home and this is his bio to learn more about him!
Hi, I’m Zooter, a male orange tabby who is always happy to share love and affection. I am one of the sweetest boys you’ll meet! I thoroughly enjoy all petting, from head rubs and scratches to being brushed. I’ve been known to pick head scratches over treats, that’s how much I love to be touched! I’m not a fan of sitting in laps or being held, I’m but will lay next to you for plenty of pets which will result in lots of purring and biscuit-making from me. If you stop petting me before I’m ready for you to stop, I will rub my head against you to show that I want some more of those wonderful pets you were giving me. I’m such a fan of attention that I love all humans I meet, even the younger ones.
You should know, I do have some special needs. I was born approximately 1/17/17 and I have a congenital cervical defect otherwise diagnosed as IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease), which resulted in rear limb paralysis in me. I may have mobility issues, but I don’t let it stop me from getting around. I may look wobbly in my attempts to move around, but thanks to a new med treatment, I’ve recently been spotted using all 4 of my legs to walk! I can use a litter box but will need a low-profile one that I can easily get in and out of.
I’m a gentle soul, always looking for love and attention. My curiosity has no boundaries and I use my sense of smell a lot when meeting new friends. Some of my fellow feline friends don’t appreciate my boldness and awkward movements, and our reactions with one another are unpredictable at times. Supervised visits with other pets is needed to keep everyone safe or a home just for me and my humans is fine. If you have room in your heart for a special kitty like me that will show my appreciation for all the love and care you give me, please fill out an adoption application at www.wbcats.org/adopt so we can meet soon. My adoption requires an approved application, signed contract, favorable interview, and the payment of all fees.
