I started volunteering at Wild Blue Cats in October 2016 after helping with a TNR project headed up by Allison Duval in Monument. It was such a rewarding experience that I decided to join the team. It all began with helping at the sanctuary on Monday evenings after work and has blossomed into a rewarding leadership role for me.
I am the adoption fair volunteer coordinator, I remind the Saturday volunteers on their agreed times to attend the fairs, I fill in with setup and teardown and fair coverage when needed, along with meeting new volunteers at the fairs. Along with working side by side with volunteers on fourth Saturdays as the team lead. I am the PetSmart store cage team lead and as a team, we transport, set-up and care for the cats up for adoption at a local PetSmart store. I am also on the TNR team helping Allison with our TNR program. In the spring of 2018 Allison and I successfully Trapped, Neutered, and Released 50 cats in Black Forest along with my first solo TRN in which I successfully TNR’d a 7 cat colony. Volunteering at Wild Blue Cats has been very rewarding for me, I have learned so much from my team and look forward to many years to come. I see many solo TNR’s in my future!
