Hello, my name is Audra and I have been a volunteer with Wild Blue since December, 2018. I moved to Colorado Springs from a small farming community in northeast Colorado in 2007. I am the front desk manager for a motel in the downtown Colorado Springs area, after transferring from another local motel where I was a facilities maintenance supervisor. During the summer months I also serve as a swimming pool maintenance technician. I grew up hiking, camping and fishing throughout the mountains of Colorado. To this day whenever I get a chance I prefer to spend my time in the high country hiking with my mother and our traveling companion, my 12 year old Pharaoh Hound/Boxer mix. If not meandering through the forests, the dog and I can be found wherever there is a pond with some fish in it. I decided to volunteer with Wild Blue after talking to some of their existing volunteers at an adoption fair and wholeheartedly agreeing with their mission. I had a little free time on Saturdays, so figured “why not help?!” All my life I have been around cats, and in fact I am currently privileged enough to have the permission of three felines to share their home with them. Of course, in accordance with the feline’s “Rules of the Universe” manual, this coexistence comes with very strict stipulations, subject to change without notice!! I love cats of all ages, sizes and breeds but have a special place in my heart for cats with special needs and those who have never had or have lost their fur-ever homes. I believe that it will be a great year for Wild Blue and would like to take this brief opportunity to say thank you to all within our organization who make our mission possible!!!
