I have been volunteering at Wild Blue since April 2020 and am very proud to be part of this wonderful organization.
I knew at 7 years old that I wanted to be a veterinarian. In fact, one of my elementary teachers who is also a family friend, remembers me telling the other children that I was going to be a Vet one day! My mother and I rescued dogs, cats and a variety of wildlife my entire childhood.
I have worked or volunteered at shelters, rescue organizations, TNR, low cost s/n clinics., etc. since 1998 when I got my RVT license and degree. I graduated LSU SVM in 2005 and have practiced as a DVM since then. I currently work at 2 low cost veterinary clinics in rural Northeast Colorado 3 days a week, do relief work at an animal ER in Denver from time to time and volunteer with various groups as much as I’m able to.
I have 2 beautiful sons, a very supportive husband, 2 dogs, 3 cats and fish. I’m originally from Louisiana, but we have lived in
Monument, Colorado since 2016 and love it here!
Thank you to all the people who help these precious animals!
Erin McCarty Davezac, DVM
