Meet our June 2023 Kitty of the Month…..Hamlet!
Hi! My name is Hamlet. I am a shy DSH grey tabby & black male with a left ear tip. I have severely limited vision and I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes. I get startled easily with unfamiliar sounds and smells, as those senses are more acute due to my vision loss. Please be calm and speak gently when you approach me, and allow me to smell you so I learn to recognize you. It takes me a long time to trust, however when I feel comfortable, I allow pets on my head and cheeks. I have made some good human friends lately and with them, I am happy with full body pets when they go slow. I came to Wild Blue as a special needs kitty and lived at Maya’s Village in my own safe enclosure. I grew comfortable with my caretakers, but my health declined and that’s when it was discovered that I had diabetes and I needed daily insulin shots with a special diet plan. My fur was severely matted so I was shaved, and now my fur is growing back. I like being brushed. I have learned to use the litter box, but I may still need my pee pads just in case I miss the mark. I’m getting familiar with being indoors and in my room, and I am doing well with my insulin routine and food schedule. I still need patience while I get used to being around more people and attention. I do feel better about the possibility of finding my own forever home to enjoy many more years with a patient human who is familiar with diabetic cats. My estimated DOB is 10/29/16.
If you feel you are willing to give me my forever home, I would love to meet you! You can submit an online adoption application at: wbcats.org/adopt/
