Next update on 10/10:
Thanks to all our wonderful fosters and medical team the 18 kittens are improving and thriving! Our medical team continues to assess the eyes of all the kittens and I’ve included some photos of the ones who are back to 100%! Some of the kittens we thought might lose eyes are showing improvement enough that we may not have to remove them after all. Sadly, we do have a few who have one or both eyes which will need to be removed in order for the kittens to lead a healthy, normal life. Those final assessments and removal surgeries are still scheduled for Oct 10th. Any help before then to cover those upcoming costs is greatly appreciated.
From our fosters:
Verzenio will not lose either eye…his are looking great. Valeric may be ok on both eyes…one is suspect but looking better every day. Validity and Viability still have swollen third eyelid covering their eyes but they are wide open and I can see eyes in the corners. Cannot tell if they are savable but both seem to be able to see somehow. Varum (both eyes already removed) is learning his new environment and is a purr buddy. Lost a little weight overnight so will try to help him eat more. Valorian is the most animated of the group, purrs and plays and romps. Her one eye left is questionable but I’m hopeful it can be saved.
Volute and Vels eyes are looking great. Vel has a bit of cloudiness in her left eye. Varnish has cloudiness in both eyes. Vorticity’s right eye is super cloudy and doesn’t look great. His left eye still has the red covering it. Vellum’s eyes are good and she hasn’t had eye medication for a number of days. I don’t think that Vibration’s left eye can be saved. It’s completely cloudy and bulging. I’m uncertain about his right eye. Volatility’s eyes have improved, but I don’t know if given more time and treatment if they can be saved. Vault’s eyes look great! Vanceril and Valence are still healing but hopeful that they will keep both eyes.
Our bottle babies continue to grow and sleep, and grow and sleep as bottle babies will do.
New donations will be utilized for the upcoming eye removal surgeries on some of the kittens and vet exams for all of them. We appreciate all who have donated and shared to this point! Next update on Oct 10th after our medical team assessment and hopefully no too many more eye removal surgeries! We couldn’t do this without all of you! Thank you from Wild Blue Cats and the Eye Caramba 18 Kittens!
